Deep sandblasted with stone gloss

The deep sandblasted text is created in the same way as the recessed text, but it goes deeper, 7-8 mm instead of 3-4 mm. By sandblasting deeply into the stone, a shadow effect is created. The stone gloss is painted on to further enhance the contrast.

Deep sandblasted text is suitable for coarser surfaces such as rough-hewn, flamed, or fine-chiseled surfaces. The rough surfaces are relatively light, which means that the shadow effect created by deep sandblasting is sufficient to achieve a good contrast with the text on the gravestone.

The advantage of deep sandblasted text is that it is clearly visible even when the gravestone is wet (see the image example to the right). Another advantage of deep sandblasted text is that since the text is not painted, it does not require renovation and still looks good even after a long time.

The disadvantage of deep sandblasted text is that it cannot be done on very small details or thin lines. Another disadvantage is that dirt can accumulate in the deep grooves, and the rough surfaces of the gravestone can lead to the growth of lichen and moss.
