Light gray granite
Light gray granite is our lightest stone type as we do not recommend marble in Swedish climates. The light gray granite that Edurus uses is quarried in China.
Both with polished and carved processing, black painted text is what is best seen on a light gray granite.
Raised text is poorly visible as the contrast between the polished text and the carved background is low.

The advantage of light gray granite is that it can be worked to look very natural.
Light gray granite has very little pattern deviation and an even color.
The disadvantage of light gray granite is that it can absorb water if it stands in damp soil. Light gray granite is sensitive to dirt stains. Light gray granite provides poor contrast between polished and carved surfaces.
The light gray granite offers an elegant and classic aesthetic for gravestones. Its light gray color gives a calm and peaceful feeling that is well suited for cemeteries. We recommend light gray granite to our customers who are looking for white marble for two main reasons.
- Light gray granite is more durable and more resistant than marble. Granite is highly resistant to abrasion and weathering, among other things, which means that the tombstone can maintain its appearance and quality over time without losing its beauty. Marble, on the other hand, is more susceptible to scratches, stains and chemical attack.
- Light gray granite generally requires less maintenance than marble. Granite is easier to clean and keep clean because it is less susceptible to stains and dirt. Marble, on the other hand, requires more careful handling and regular cleaning to avoid stains and damage.
A tombstone made of light gray granite exudes both simplicity and elegance. Its light shade gives it a calm and timeless feel, retaining its beauty and charm over time without being too intrusive or overwhelming.
