About Edurus

A trip to China in 1999 was the start of what is now Edurus. I opened my eyes to stone as a creative material, was impressed by the craftsmanship I encountered and started with gravestones with a vision of being able to deliver quality at good prices in an old industry.

A few years later, I took over Fonus Gravestone Industries with a shared vision with Fonus to deliver high quality at a price customers can afford. The combination of high quality and price together with the fact that we can customize the tombstone according to unique wishes is probably what led to the fact that today we are proud to have delivered more than 50,000 tombstones to satisfied customers. It is likely that your cemetery has many Edurus stones. Thanks to our large volumes, skilled customer advisors and efficient production, we can usually offer the best quality, value and price to our customers. This is also why we are not only the main supplier to the well-known Fonus, but also an official partner of SBF, the Swedish Funeral Directors Association and many smaller agencies.

Customized unique stones and stone art is something Edurus is uniquely good at. I see our work in preserving memories partly as an art. You can come to us with an image, an object or just an idea. Together we create a unique memorial stone. For me, art is an important part of our work. Today we also make gravestones for all religions and ethnic groups and have extensive experience of all the world’s religious symbols, the design of stones and all kinds of text and language.

We are passionate about working with natural materials and actively work to preserve our cultural heritage. Today, our gravestones are manufactured in Malung at Malung Stenfabrik in Dalarna, some work is done at our unit in Lithuania and in Chongwu, China. In Malung, we work to recreate a craft tradition and abilities that have unfortunately been largely forgotten in Sweden. In Malung’s Stone Factory, we manufacture Eduru’s Nordic collection with stone from quarries in the Nordic countries. The nearest one is only six miles from the factory.

Chongwu Province has been the center of stone cutting in a direct line of descent since the 14th century, and preserves a unique cultural heritage. Many of our employees come from stonemasonry families with 1000 years of tradition. Their craftsmanship in creating art in stone from models in pictures and sketches is exceptional and unparalleled in Sweden today.

Each gravestone is a memory of a loved one and I am humbled by the task. We know how important it is to get everything right and we strive to do our utmost with a warm, honest and knowledgeable approach. We have succeeded more than 50,000 times and I hope we can earn your trust too.

Contact us and we will help you with the process of producing a beautiful gravestone guaranteed to Sweden’s highest quality and (actually) usually the best price.
